Review highlights

Based on 511 reviews

La Cuevita del Mar is widely praised for its authentic Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, with particular acclaim for fresh seafood dishes such as paella and grilled sea bass. Reviewers frequently highlight the restaurant's traditional atmosphere, featuring handwritten menus primarily in Spanish, which adds to its genuine local charm. While reservations are not typically accepted, guests recommend arriving early or waiting briefly for a table due to high demand and limited seating. The attentive and friendly service, combined with reasonably priced dishes and good value when pairing meals with local wine, contributes to a positive overall experience. Language barriers are noted but generally do not hinder communication, as staff make efforts to explain menu items to non-Spanish speakers.

Very nice restaurant. Very tasty food and fair price! Not many available tables, so it would be wise to make a reservation in advance. We were lucky to get a table as we came around 19:10. The paella is full of fresh sea food and well prepared. And the grilled sea bass is very delicious as well. Interesting hand written menu :-) And the host is very nice.

Brilliant little restaurant serving really fresh local cuisine. The service was great and despite very little English spoken it was still really easy to understand the dishes. Great value for money with a bottle of wine, 2 starters (prawns and pardon peppers) plus a seafood paella costing just over €70. Reservations aren’t taken so you just need to chance there being a table but we were fine. Highly recommend

Cute little restaurant. We love traditional Spanish food so found this one on google. Recommend for sure. Menu is in Spanish (hubby speaks) but they will translate to English for you. Our food was great. Canarian potatoes, green peppers, prawns & octopus. I also had the crème brûlée. Would return for sure when next here.

We stumbled across this restaurant by coincidence. At first approach we were told they are fully booked and there is no available table. As we stood on the side to look for something else. The lady that seemed to managed the floor came over to let us know that a table will be living in 10min that is not reserved if we wanted to wait. We did and wow thank God we did. The menu was presented on black board and the choice was divine. We opted for grilled octopus and grilled cheese to start with. The octopus was served on potatoes with pimientos and olive oil drizzle. Grilled cheese was served with blueberries conserve. For the main we opted for local fish served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The picture says it all. It was absolutely delicious. The lady that served us was super friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the restaurant and I will definitely be back.

Authentic Spanish cuisine in Tenerife !! Who’d have thought it ? This place was brilliant, not an English menu in sight. The menu was kinda explained to us which consisted of tapas style starters and numerous main courses. Everything you’d expect from fresh calamari, meat and fish dishes and fresh paella to share. You know it’s good when there’s Spanish people in the restaurant. The waitress was brilliant, kind friendly and her service was excellent. The food was great and very filling it was hard to finish with the big portion sizes. Would defo go back. The grilled octopus from the tapas was superb! You can’t book but we arrived at opening at 1900 such to be safe and got a table for 6 outside in the evening sun.

We had prawn, octopus and tuna steak, and it was all so yummy! Price was so reasonable for its freshness. The restaurant was super busy and couldn’t have a table for the first try. Maybe better to book beforehand. The waitress was very attentive and efficient! Super fast and friendly. Will def come back!

Lovely service, brilliant chef, fresh and high quality food. Definitely worth every penny. Portions are decent size, two of us had 4 dishes to share and we were so full that unfortunately couldn't manage the dessert this time. We would definitely visit again
